This week’s video is of a car review of the Porsche Cayman S. This video is from 2008, so it should be very useful if you are looking to buy a used Cayman S.
This last weekend was a huge weekend to be in the Monterey Peninsula. On Friday (August, 13th) the Legends of the Autobahn Concours was held and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance started and went through Sunday. At Pebble Beach, the Porsche 918 Spyder made it’s North American Debut.
Below you can see a video from the Legends of the Autobahn.

Today we have a video that compares the 2011 Porsche Cayenne Turbo to a Porsche 911 Carrera 4S. The video shows just how close the new SUV is to the 911 (although a 911 Turbo would have dusted the SUV).
The Porsche Cayenne is perhaps the most hated and most loved car that the company has ever made. Porsche purists hate it because it isn’t a sports car (they even hate it more than they did the front engine sports cars such as the 928 in the 80’s). However, the model is the best selling line that Porsche has ever made, so the Cayenne is financing the 911, Cayman and Boxster.
For 2011 the Cayenne lineup has changed a bit with the addition of a hybrid model that is supposed to be able to get 37 MPG. The bigger news is that the turbo is now able to go 0-62 MPH in just 4.7 seconds. At a local Porsche Club of America meeting that I recently attended, one member was telling me that he happen to go to a motor sport specialist that happened to have a 2011 Cayenne Turbo. He told me that according to the shop the SUV was able to handle better and go faster on the track than many of their race cars. Plus the new car is much more capable off road and it can now compete with the Range Rover in the off road arena.
Below is a video highlighting the new lineup and changes.
This week’s video is of racing legend Walther Rohrl testing at the Nurburgring in the rain. You have to watch the video to get a sense of how incredibly quick he is while driving on the slick track in a Porsche 997 GT3 RS (an almost 100% stock street legal race car).
It was great to see Walter back on the track before he recently had to step aside due to health issues.
